The Importance of LinkedIn

People love the convenience of one stop shopping, you can get everything you need in one place. That is how LinkedIn feels like to me, an employer can go to your page read a brief summary about you, see your previous jobs, recommendations, your resume, and even your skills. Then you can connect with them and even send them a message as to why you are trying to connect with them, and they can do the same to you. Another fantastic part of LinkedIn is that you can connect and network with people from anywhere including your university and alums. Which can be a huge help when hunting for jobs, a lot of people and employers love to try and help out young ambitious students and grads from their old college. This can also be beneficial for people looking to be hired in the sports field. If you are looking for a high level college coaching job and the athletic director of that college wants you to send your resume, you could just send them to your LinkedIn page. The athletic director could then see not only your resume, but where you played college baseball, and previous schools where you have coached. To me LinkedIn is such a vital tool in finding a job, it has everything an employer could need.
